1/2 cup chai tea concentrate (or very strong brewed chai tea, cooled)
1/4 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Extra pumpkin pie spice for dusting
Instructions
In the pitcher of a high-speed blender, add the ice cubes, milk, chai tea concentrate, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Adding the liquid ingredients first can sometimes help the blender move more efficiently.
Secure the lid on your blender and start on a low speed. Gradually increase to high speed and blend for about 30 to 45 seconds. You are looking for a thick, uniform, and slushy consistency with no large ice chunks remaining.
Remove the lid and take a small sip of the mixture. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add another teaspoon of maple syrup. If it is too thick, add a splash more milk and pulse again briefly to combine.
Pour the frappe into two chilled glasses. If desired, top generously with whipped cream and a light dusting of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon. Serve immediately with a straw.
