2 cups cheddar cheese crackers (such as Goldfish or Cheez-Its)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup cheddar cheese powder (popcorn seasoning style)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
In a very large mixing bowl, combine the mini pretzels and the cheddar cheese crackers. Gently toss them together with your hands or a large spoon to ensure an even distribution.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the cheddar cheese powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Slowly pour the seasoned butter mixture over the pretzels and crackers. Use a large spatula to toss the mix thoroughly, ensuring every piece is coated in the cheese mixture. Take your time with this step so there are no dry spots.
Spread the mixture in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Stir the mix halfway through the baking time to ensure even toasting and to prevent the cheese powder from burning.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Let the mix cool completely on the pan. The coating will harden and become extra crunchy as it cools down. Do not skip this step!
