Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (such as Stove Top)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preparation and Preheating
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or a small amount of butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Step 2: Season the Chicken
Place the bite-sized chicken pieces into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Season them evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure the chicken is spread out in an even layer.
  3. Step 3: Mix the Creamy Sauce
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and chicken broth (or water) until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Step 4: Layer the Sauce
Pour the soup mixture over the chicken pieces in the baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly so that all the chicken is covered. This sauce will keep the chicken juicy as it bakes.
  5. Step 5: Prepare the Stuffing Layer
In another bowl, toss the dry stuffing mix with the melted butter until the crumbs are evenly coated. Sprinkle the buttery stuffing mix over the top of the chicken and sauce layer.
  6. Step 6: Bake to Golden Perfection
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The chicken should be cooked through, and the stuffing should be golden brown and slightly crispy on top.
