Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup chai tea concentrate (such as Tazo)
  • 3/4 cup whole milk (or milk of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Extra cinnamon or pumpkin spice for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk and the pumpkin puree. Make sure the pumpkin is fully incorporated into the milk so there are no lumps.
  2. Whisk in the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Continue to stir as the mixture heats up to ensure the flavors meld together perfectly.
  3. Heat the pumpkin milk until it is steaming and small bubbles form around the edges, but do not let it come to a rolling boil. If you have a milk frother, you can froth this mixture now for a lighter texture.
  4. In a separate mug or the same saucepan, add the chai tea concentrate. If you like your drink very hot, you can heat the concentrate before adding it to the milk mixture.
  5. Pour the warm pumpkin milk over the chai tea concentrate. Stir gently to combine. Taste and add more sweetener if desired.
  6. Top your latte with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon. Serve immediately while hot.
